Empire Waste Dress

So I am thrifty when it comes to fabric. I love to find remnants and this one was a great find. There was just enough to make this project. I already had black at home so I added that to it.
And then I made a head band to go with it. I made the flowers as a clip though so I can take it off and use just the flowers in her hair if I feel like it.

Shirt #4

So the last 3 shirts were all done with clothes I already had on hand. but this shirt is just a good find so I got 2 of them so I could make another shirt. They were on sale at Marices and then they do the extra 75% off which made them 3.25 each. It's only worth cutting up a shirt if you get it cheep enough.
So I got one small and one in a large to have more fabric to work with.  Cut the one into strips and then cut squares and then cut them into flowers.

I used 5 one inch strips all the way down as a guide and then sewed my flowers down the center only so they would be floppy on the sides.

Hard to see the details maybe I will take another picture outside to show how cute this turned out.

Shirt #3

So this one using a green layering shirt and a matching green floral print tank.

I made some flowers by twisting and wrapping around the fabric at the same time.
Did some ruffles at the top with one flower in there too. Sorta hard to see because it's the same fabric.

Shirt makeover #2

Ok so I got so excited making these shirts I forgot to take a picture of this one before. It was a turtle neck first of all and I cut that off. Then I took a tank that was kind of a mesh material that came with a shirt underneath it but I didn't ever use it for that. So I cut the tank out of the one shirt and then cut into strips and ruffled them to make this design. I used the neck material to make a flower with the tank material all ruffled together.

Shirt makeover #1

So I am into remaking shirts I don't really use much any more.
So here is a navy layering shirt.
And a paisley print tank.
turned into a shirt with vertical ruffles and a ruffle flower at the top. I wasn't as happy the way it looked on but I liked the flower idea so it went from this into...

This. Just random different flowers along the top.

Bathroom signs

So I found these wood signs at the dollar store at painted them to look like this. I still need some fun ribbon to go with it but sometimes I get impatient and want it done now. So when I find something I like better I will switchyroo.

Fabric Mail Box

I have wanted to get a mail box for Mckayla for along time now. Then I thought why not make one. But I never saw one I liked until now. Or I should say I didn't have all the materials for until I saw this one and had everything to make it. It is done out of plastic canvas and batting and of course fabric. I made mine a little different by using Brads instead of buttons. So easy. and then I added this cute flower on the front. I also used 2 different fabrics. Love it. And so does McKayla. Now she just needs people to send her some mail.

Fabric Necklace

So I decided to make this necklace for Mckayla from some dollar store beads we have laying around and do something cute with them. It was sew easy. hardly any sewing required. Now fabric choice would make a big difference in this but again being thrifty with all the left overs. I used a solid black fabris with some black tulle for the flowers. Turned out ok. I think I will make another one for me this time using cuter material.

kids table cloth

I love the little tikes furniture items because of their sturdy tough plastic but they aren't the cutest. So I decided I would make a table cloth out of my left over scraps.

I also used some old crib sheets that I do use any more to use as a ruffle.

Now I just need to figure something out for the chairs. Stayed tuned. Well it might be awhile. I am running low on scraps. Thus the Crib sheets.

Good behavior Jars

I decided to make some Good behavior Jars because I already had achievement charts for the kids to get points when they do chores etc. but nothing for the everyday little things that they do that are good. I have always remembered my 2nd grade teacher had a marble jar that when as a class if we were good we would get marbles and bad she would take some out. So I finally got around to making them and so far they are working great.
Although I had a friend show me a board she does with her kids where she moves pegs up and down. So I may be making one of those too. Just might use it for something else.

Ribbon flower flip flops

So I love making these ribbon flowers. They are soo easy and coo cute. I decided my flippies could use a makeover. And five minutes later they are so fun. I could have used a colored that might have matched better. But I had a bunch of this ribbon left over from a different project.
Plus I like how it hides my toes a little more than before.
